Designed for one platform
Focusing on Mac lets Cueable use modern macOS frameworks for its interface, speech features and on-device intelligence. It also means the app can feel consistent with the computer you already use for notes, assignments and research.
The trade-off is straightforward: Cueable is not the right choice if cross-platform access is your main requirement. It currently requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 26.
Local-first by default
Cueable stores cards and study history on your Mac by default. There is no Cueable login or advertising profile. Optional CloudKit syncing can move eligible study data through your private iCloud database.
Local-first does not mean you should skip backups. Your normal Mac backup routine remains important for any valuable study library.
What you can do in Cueable
You can import existing material, schedule it with FSRS, build a route to a deadline and practise through typed, visual and spoken activities. Cuepacks can carry richer material such as images, hints, essay structure and purpose-built activities.
The result is a Mac study tool that treats flashcards as ingredients for practice rather than the entire experience.
