What local-first means
Your core study library lives on the computer where you use it. Cueable does not need to build a cloud profile to schedule reviews or provide its on-device features.
This reduces the number of systems that need access to sensitive notes, but it also makes care of the Mac itself important.
Safety is shared
Use a strong Mac login, keep macOS updated and maintain an encrypted backup. Local storage protects against some cloud risks; it does not protect a library from device loss or a failed drive.
If you create study material with an external AI service or import a file supplied by someone else, review the service’s privacy rules and the file’s contents separately.
The practical answer
Cueable’s account-free, analytics-free design is intentionally simple and privacy-conscious. For personal study material on a compatible, well-maintained Mac, that is a strong foundation. Do not put information into any study tool that you are not authorised to store.
