Prepare a clean export
Export the deck you actually want to test as an .apkg file and keep the original Anki collection unchanged. Complex templates, specialist add-ons and unusual card behaviour may not translate exactly, which is why Cueable describes the feature as support for compatible decks rather than every possible Anki configuration.
Begin with one representative topic. A small migration makes it easier to spot formatting or media issues before moving a large library.
Check meaning, not only appearance
After importing, review prompts, answers, images and any important formatting. Then practise a sample in Cueable. A card can look correct while still producing an ambiguous answer in a different activity.
Edit long or multi-part cards where necessary so typed, visual or spoken recall has a clear target.
What changes after import
The knowledge can move, but Cueable supplies its own experience around it: FSRS-based scheduling, deadline-aware plans and modes such as Cloze, Scramble, Link, Outline and interviews.
Keep your source export as a backup. Import compatibility is a bridge between tools, not a reason to discard the original data immediately.
